Three ways to style curly hair – from loose waves to defined curls

Curly hair has become more popular than ever recently, whether natural or carefully styled to mermaid-esque perfection. The good news, there are a whole lot of chic, interesting ways to style your curls that might be a little easier than you think.

Add definition
A big issue for a lot of people with naturally curly hair is figuring out how to add some sleek definition to their look. With the help of curl taming cream, curls can appear sleek and frizz-free for up to 24 hours

All you have to do is apply it to damp hair, making sure you run it through with your fingers all over, and then blow-dry using a diffuser.

A sculpted look
For anyone with naturally wavy but not necessarily curly locks, you should keep your friends close and your curling iron closer. After applying curl mousse, dry with a diffuser and then use a wide curling iron to add extra voluminous waves with more body and volume.

For a Hollywood-inspired look, gently comb through the curls for a smoother look. To finish, lock in your style with strong hold hairspray.

Go natural
Alternatively, you can go for a simple, messier style with texturized curls. This works particularly well in a ponytail, FYI.

Working with damp hair, apply a good amount of tousle waves spray, using your fingers to ensure good coverage. Then, take a section of hair, twist and blow-dry completely. Once dry, separate out the twist with your fingers and scrunch. Repeat until all your hair is tousled, creating a look that is relaxed with a kind of “out of bed” feel. Then, for the ponytail, simply gather hair high on the crown of your head and secure with a hair elastic. To add a little extra detail, take a section from the ponytail and wrap it around the base and secure underneath with a bobby pin.

After all that, you’re kind of spoiled for choice!
